Prarthana Liyanage
Director/ Senior Catalyst
Prarthana Liyanage is a Director and Senior Catalyst of Purposeful Leadership Limited. She is a qualified Psychologist, Counsellor, Coach and Trainer. She has guided and inspired team members from Aitken Spence, Axiata Digital, Benji, Brandix, Dialog, Hirdaramani, HSBC, IFS, Jetwing Hotels, John Keells Holdings, Litro, MAS Intimates, Millennium IT, Pan Asia Bank, Pearsons, Sponge, Unilever, and Wiley Global Technologies to bring essential change to their lives. Working closely with Senior Consultants, she has facilitated organisational, leadership, teams, and talent transformation processes including 360-degree assessments, psycho-matric assessments, workshops, and collaborative inquiry groups in these organisations and many more.
Prarthana holds a BSc in Psychology, a Diploma in Counselling Psychology, an International Diploma in Psychology, an Advanced Certificate in Psychological Counselling, a Certificate in Family Counselling, a certificate in Child Psychology, a Certificate in Announcing & Programme Presenting and a Foundation certificate in Human Resource Management. She is also a graduate of Mastery of Self through – Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).
Her training and facilitating experiences come from facilitating at the World Conference on Youth, Commonwealth Youth Forum, Millennium Development Goals, First Aid, Asia Pacific Girl Guides Association, Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association, the Institute of Mind Inspiration and the World Humanitarian Day 2013 organized by the United Nations (UN) Sri Lanka. She went on to lead projects and play leadership roles in many of these organizations.
She is passionate about voluntarism and helping people build their lives and change themselves. As a volunteer currently serving as the Vice Chair for the Asia Pacific Girl Guides Association, she has organised conferences and conducted training in South Korea, Fiji, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Mongolia, Cyprus, Thailand, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka. She has also volunteered at the UN Volunteers (V Force) and Family Planning Association. She has held positions in many youth-led organisations such as the Old Students’ Association at the School of Media Arts & Management, as a youth advisor for the International Youth Alliance for Peace, as an advocate of developing and empowering women and as a member and license holder of the Radio Society of Sri Lanka.
